Thomaston Savings Bank is seeking an entry-level Accounting Generalist.
Job Title:
Accounting Generalist Grade:
7 Role:
Responsible for the daily GL functions including manual entries, reject items and balancing of certain accounts.
Handles all Accounts Payable functions including timely payment of invoices, maintaining vendor records and reporting.
Monitors the branch cash position, handles all foreign transactions, maintains the Prepaid expenses module, and various bookkeeping duties.
Duties:
Handles all accounts payable functions, including dealing with vendors, payment of invoices, resolving disputes and the preparation and submission of the quarterly State Sales & Use Tax and annual 1099's.
Performs necessary functions to reconcilement with the Federal Reserve Bank, the Federal Home Loan Bank and other accounts as needed.
Reviews daily system proofs and corrects any out of balance conditions or communicates with proper personnel indicating corrections that need to be made and system errors.
Prepares bi-weekly payroll.
Researches differences with the Human Resources Team.
Processes all foreign transactions, including foreign currency purchases, redemptions, and check letters.
Backup for daily cash management activities performed by the Treasury Team.
Excellent computer skills required.
