About the RoleThe Mechanical Assembly Technician III plays a crucial role in our team at Silgan Dispensing.

The Mechanical Assembly Technician III is responsible for setting up and optimizing production runs, performing quality checks, and ensuring the efficient operation of equipment.
Duties for this role include:
Executing the assembly process safely and efficiently with high quality standards Performing complex machine set ups, including dip tube changes and mechanical parts replacements Conducting quality checks and audits during production runs through visual inspection and adherence to quality guidelines Measuring, examining, and testing assembly units to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications.
Making necessary adjustments to machines or fixtures Performing preventive maintenance on assembly machines to minimize equipment downtime Identifying opportunities for efficiency improvement, cost savings, and quality enhancements Participating in EH&S reviews to ensure a safe working environment Assisting with Continuous Improvement (CI) activities such as root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions Maintaining accurate documentation of quality inspection and production results Ensuring outgoing products meet required specifications Escalating safety, quality, and performance issues as necessary Providing training and support to other team members Supporting machine disassembly processes Troubleshooting advanced issues beyond basic resets, identifying incorrect machine messages, and determining root causes and corrective actions Addressing electrical parts or electrical-related problems by implementing appropriate corrective actions Driving continuous improvement strategies Performing other assigned duties as necessary Required Qualifications Proficiency in basic shop math and computer skills Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and solve problems Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on business needs Capacity to work independently and take initiative Analytical skills to analyze, interpret, and report data on machine performance High school diploma or GED preferred Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow with changing business needs Preferred Qualifications Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on business needs Ability to work independently and take initiative Ability to analyze, interpret, and report data Strong prioritization skills Effective oral and written communication skills Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided) Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 lbs Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination, and grasping BenefitsWe offer a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(K), paid vacation time, paid holidays, overtime eligibility for hourly employees, and more.
